Rhythmic Movement Training™

… is a practice dedicated to bringing integration and balance to children and adults with specific learning obstacles including ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, coordination difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and sensory processing disorder. It can also benefit people with mild to severe emotional and behavioral challenges, anxiety, panic, and general life overwhelm. People experiencing later in life issues, like Vertigo and Parkinson’s disease, have also benefitted from using RMTi.

The practice of RMTi evolved from studying the role of movement and reflex patterns that babies naturally make from conception through to walking. RMTi was originally developed in Sweden by Kerstin Linde. It was then expanded upon by psychiatrist Harald Blomberg, M.D., who was astounded to find that the rhythmic movements helped his patients recover from psychosis and schizophrenia. Dr. Blomberg, with kinesiologist Moira Dempsey, combined the rhythmic movements with in-depth reflex integration techniques to create an effective program for individuals of all ages and abilities that is taught by a network of certified trainers worldwide.

STAY TUNED FOR FUTURE OFFERINGS

Rhythmic Movement Training™

Level 1 for Focus, Organization, Comprehension (16 hrs)
In this 2-day course, participants learn the basics of the Rhythmic Movement Training: how rhythmic movements can be used to assist in regulating muscle tone, stimulating the connections between the cerebellum and the neocortex, especially the frontal lobes, in order to improve attention and control impulses. The course also includes examining the role of the primitive reflexes in development and ways to integrate them using rhythmic movements and isometric pressure.

Level 2 for Emotions, Memory, Behavior (8 hrs)
This 1-day course addresses how the Rhythmic Movement Training affects our emotions, how to work with movements to get in touch with our emotions and to stabilize them when they threaten to take control. It also examines how stress and daily life affects our body and ways the rhythmic movements can help to relax and ease muscle tension.

Level 3 for Reading and Writing (16 hrs)
In this 2-day course, participants build on effective RMTi techniques learned in RMTi Levels 1 & 2 to explore integration of life-long and developmental reflexes that are critically important for academic skills like reading and writing. More specifically, the course addresses how our reading and writing ability is affected by various factors such as our vision, our recognition of the sounds of language, and our motor abilities. Learn movements that combine rhythm, stillness and postural shifts to organize our postural muscles, allowing for efficient sensory reception, processing and expression. Prerequisite: RMT 1 & 2

Tentatively coming in fall 2017!
If you have taken or plan to take RMTi 1 & 2 by spring 2017 and are interested in attending RMTi 3 fall 2017, please contact Tendril Kinetics at info [at] tendrilkinetics.com.
